Quantum STEM Excursion April 2024
On 17th April 2024 a group of 18 students aged 10-14 and two supervising mums attended a Lego Robotics program at Quantum Victoria. Quantum is a Specialist Science and Mathematics Centre established by the Victorian government to provide programs that increase student interest and knowledge in STEM disciplines. Programs offered by Quantum are subsidised by the government, making them very affordable.
The students spent the day learning about the capabilities of robotic technology and how to program their own Lego robots to undertake tasks in “Mars”. The students worked in pairs and competed against each other to complete as many tasks as possible, utilising the programming knowledge they gained at the beginning of the session.
It was such a fun and inspiring day and the two mums were motivated to take part in the activities too!
